Scarborough Athletic manager Darren Kelly has confirmed defender Will Thornton and midfielder Kieran Glynn are tied down to contracts for the 2021/22 season.

Speaking during his Q&A with The Scarborough News this week, Kelly confirmed that Glynn and Thornton will move into the final year of their two-year contracts whenever the 2021/22 campaign kicks off.

The rest of the squad will need to agree terms and sign new contracts with the club - something the Boro boss is keen to get cracking with sooner rather than later.

Kelly said: “Will and Kieran will be under contract next season with us, they signed two-year deals.

“They’re both huge players for us so it’s great that we have them under contract next season.

“I know what we need next season and I will be moving quickly to get things sorted once the league decide on what’s happening.

“I’ve made no secret of the fact that I believe we need a bit more leadership in the squad and I’ll be looking to get that over the line.
