DRIFFIELD RUFC will be on the road for tomorrow's final pre-season friendly against Scunthorpe when they will hope to fine-tune their squad ahead of next Saturday's opening league game at home to Aspatria.
Scunthorpe, relegated last season to Midlands Two East will, as always, provide difficult opposition and perhaps a good yardstick of the Woldsmen’s prospects for the coming season.

The win over Bridlington in the Turnbull showed that the backs hav
e lost nothing in the way they can slice through the opposition, but the old forward and goalkicking failings are still apparent. The Brid forwards, in their usual rumbustious style, gave notice that the Woldsmen’s pack can expect some hard afternoons in North Two East.

Driffield have named a squad for the Scunthorpe game, and players are asked to meet at 12.15: Pratt, A McClarron, C McClarron, Masina, Anderson, Jacobs, Harding, Nellist, Mitchell-Williams, Nicholson, J Dervey, Borman, Stephenson, Havler, Beachell. Reps: Cook, Perkins, D Llewellyn.

The seconds are due to travel too, with a short visit down the road to neighbours Beverley 2nds (meet 1.15 for 3.00pm kick off).

Skipper Jeremy Harr-ison names: Shepherdson, T Ridsdale, Murray, H Grant, Watson, Short, Hornby, Boldock, K Ridsdale, Lunn, Water-house, D Wilson, B Cooper, Btler, Maggs, Hughes, D Hancock, C Bradshaw, G Robb.
