Endurance runner supreme , Neil Ridsdale can't lose the winning habit.
The 50-year-old Drifield Strider made it four wins in a row on Saturday with victory in the 50 mile Foot In Two Dales race.

The ultra-distance specialist also set a new course record of 8hrs. 44minutes, despite the handicap of heavy showers and muddy going underfoot.

Neil won this same race in two years ago, but on a scorching hot day. On Saturday, he was six minutes ahead of the next finisher after breaking away from a small group at 44 miles.

The event, which drew 144 runners, crosses moorland and tracks through Wensleydale and Swaledale.

In recent weeks Neil has won the Lyke Wake Race, Tranquility Trail and Osmotherley Phoenix.

"I'm reining myself in for a week or two now," he said.

"But I may do a short race, as I'm in such good form at the moment."

The ‘short’ race Neil refers to is the 10k at Pudsey on Sunday, July 27, when Driffield Striders will also be sending a team to race.
