Nafferton Old Boys 3
Hutton Cranswick Utd 3rd 4

Nafferton played host to next season’s Premier league outfit and, with only 13 players available, put in a creditable performance.

Cranswick took an early lead but the home team drew level midway through the first half.

Despite some great counter attacking football from Sach, Croft, Johnson, Hosey and Roberts, Cranswick went into half time a goal to the good.

With last week’s second half performance still weighing on their minds, Nafferton nevertheless went into the second half in optimistic mood, and holding their game plan and their nerve, they found themselves 3 goals to 2 in front with 15 minutes remaining.

However, United with fresh legs in abundance, scored two further goals to edge the result but there were still lots of positives to take out of this game for the league’s new boys.

Referee’s man of the match: Shane Johnson
