Name your beer and win booze and tickets
This year’s festival coincides with the Tour De Yorkshire so the theme is beer and bikes – and for those who want the challeneg beer, bikes and books.
“Books by the Beach runs from April 26 to 1 May 1 a stage of the road race ends inn Scarborough on April 28. So it didn’t take long for Gill and I to agree that cycling should feature in this year’s competition,” said Heather.

Hide AdGill Partridge, owner Of Watermark in North Bay, will be selling Wold Top beer. North Bay is where the race will end.
The prize for the winning entry is a presentation box of your award-winning ale.
A bottle of the winning beer will also be gifted to each author attending the festival.
The winner will also win two tickets to see jockey Declan Murphy on April 28 at Scarborough Library Concert Hall at 5.30pm and two tickets to see champion rowers ‘Four Mums in a Boat’ at the Spa Theatre at 7.30pm, later that day.

Hide AdThe beer-naming competition has been run with Hunmanby-based Wold Top Brewery for threee years has become part of the event.
Guests appearing at the festival include jockey Declan Murphy, best-selling writers Joanna Trollope, Salley Vickers, Mark Billingham and actresses Harriet Walter and Denise Welch.
