Snail in the flower beds

VILLAGERS in Hutton Cranswick have taken the unusual step of allowing a snail to take up residency at the pond.
Usually they are the scourge of the garden but this snail will not be nibbling the flowers or wrecking the plants around it.
Flowers at Hutton Cranswick pond have been planted in the shape of a snail, and the bed located next to the three other flower creatures which have already made their home there.
Lynn Hall of Hutton Cranswick in Bloom said: "This enormous snail, designed by Ron Collins, takes its place alongside the two ladybirds and blue butterfly that arrived last year.
"All the creatures have been planted up by Hutton Cranswick Rainbows and plants have been kindly donated by Kilnwick Gardens and B&Q, from a Better Neighbourhood grant awarded by the Bridlington branch."
Village In Bloom co-ordinator served members of the Rainbows chocolate cake and refreshments to reward their hard work and top celebrate the group's 21st year.
