HUTTON Cranswick Scouts have helped Meningitis UK take great strides towards finding a cure for the disease by taking part in a charity walk.
A group of Beavers and Scouts from the 7th Driffield Scouts Hutton Cranswick took part in a 14-mile walk from Driffield to Bridlington in aid of the charity.

Beaver Scout leader, Pearl Dyson, was keen to get the youngsters on board for the trek, which was the final leg of the charities' eight-day Walk of Roses from Blackpool to Bridlington, after her son contracted the disease four years ago.

Mrs Dyson said: "We have done a lot for Meningitis UK. My daughter, Emerald, ran the Great North Run for them in October and will be doing it again this year because her brother had meningitis when he was 17 but made a full recovery."
