THE opportunity for Driffield's business people to network is provided by a club which was founded this year.
The Driffield and District Business Club was formed so the town's entrepreneurs could meet people in different industries and share knowledge and contacts.

The idea is to create a network of people with various skills who will work closely to supp
ort each other.

A short presentation is given by one of the members at each fortnightly breakfast meeting to give others an insight into their business.

The club was also founded with the intention of becoming involved in local issues to give business and industry in the Driffield area a voice.

Membership co-ordinator Simon Collingwood said: "We have been getting involved with local issues - for example we have written to the East Riding of Yorkshire Council with regard to the Cattle Market. It's not just a business club in terms of promoting business."

So far the club has 20 members including a plumber, graphic designer, IT experts, a mobile phone company, secretarial and book keeping professionals but many professions are not yet represented such as mechanics, solicitors or estate agents.

Mr Collingwood said: "We have got a diverse group of people but there's plenty of room for more businesses of different types."
