During the summer months members enjoyed two outings. In mid-June there was a Saturday coach trip to Whitby.
The journey over the moors was very scenic and the sun shone for most of the day. Once in the resort everyone was free to explore at their own pace.

Some shopped, some climbed up to the abbey and church, some visited the museum and some simply strolled around enjoying the sea air. Quite a few portions of fish and chips were eaten for lunch! On the way home we ran into some torrential rain and realised how lucky we have been to have had good weather.

On a rather dull and cold evening in July more than 40 members took part in a treasure hunt in Sewerby Hall grounds. The clues led to most areas of the gardens and there was a picture quiz too. Everyone participated enthusiastically meeting up at the Ransdale Hotel, Bridlington, to hand in their answers. The teams acquitted themselves well and the scores were high. The hotel staff provided an excellent meal.

The club resumes its fortnightly meetings after the summer break on Wednesday, September 3, 7.30pm for 7.45pm, in the Maple Room at the Bell Hotel. New members are always welcome.
