Two things have to be certain to anyone with sound commercial sense and experience.
1. Even if today the population of Driffield is 1,000 higher, it does not need another large store.

2. If it did need a large store, the reasons why it should not be in the cattle market are so obvious that they do not require repeating by me.

The cattle market area can be converted in many other ways, especially attractive ways, to enhance the attraction of Driffield to its residents and visitors.

We have Tesco, Iceland and many excellent butchers, bakers and greengrocers. In addition, we have Boyes, Wilkinson and Yorkshire Traders.

What else do the supporters of a large store in the cattle market want -Harrods!

It is difficult not to question motives.
