Roadworks disruption will last nine weeks
MOTORISTS are facing up to nine weeks of disruption from next week as contractors dig up one of Driffield's main roads.
Northern Gas Networks has told the town council that work on the gas mains system on Bridlington Road is necessary.
The work will involve replacing around 1,114m of old metal gas mains with modern plastic pipeline. It will be carried out along Bridlington Road between the Scarborough Road, Wansford Road and New Road junction to just before the Fieldfare roundabout.
The company's contractor plans to start work on July 26 and expect it to last approximately nine weeks.
Traffic lights will be in use at the Manorfield Avenue junction for two to three days in order to allow the work to progress safely.
There will inevitably be some traffic disruption on Bridlington Road and parking restrictions will be in operation during our work.
Throughout the work, a customer service team will be available on 08456 340 521.
