Police warning of rise in car crime

POLICE have this week warned car owners across the Driffield area to be vigilant amid concerns over a possible upsurge in vehicle crime.
The warning came after officers reported a 'significant problem' in other parts of the Humberside Police force area.
Sgt Dave Jenkins of the Driffield Neighbourhood Policing Team, told a Police and Partners Community Forum meeting in the town that the area had not been suffering from a similar problem in recent weeks.
But he added: "That is not to say we should be complacent. We have got to consider that any work which happens elsewhere may force the criminals here."
Operations to tackle the problem in the worst affected areas are continuing, the meeting was told.
