COMPLAINING to a huge organisation like the NHS is not always an easy task, with countless processes to go through and lengthy documents to complete.
The Independent Complaints Advocacy Service (ICAS), along with the Carers Federation, aim to help people in Driffield navigate the NHS complaints procedure.

They have set up a monthly outreach session at Market House, Exchange Street, where people
can drop-in and receive help and support with any complaints against the NHS.

A spokesman from ICAS said: “We don’t encourage people to complain.

“ICAS comes alongside people who already feel they have an issue, and explains how to navigate the system.”

He added that if valid complaints are acted on within the NHS it will amount to a better service for everyone.

The UK-wide complaints service has offices in Hull, York and Rotherham but this is the first time that the organisation has brought its services to Driffield.

Peter Kitson, ICAS team leader for our area, said: “We can help with writing a letter, what to include, who to contact and how to progress the complaint generally.”

The next outreach sessions in Market House will be held on July 24, August 21 and September 18.
