ELDERLY and disabled residents in the East Riding are being urged to take advantage of free home safety checks.
Older and disabled people are most at risk from slips, trips and falls at home and now the East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s private sector housing team are giving people the chance to find out where the potential dangers are in their homes.

The service is funded by the council and the government’s Supporting People Programme, is confidential, tailored to individual requirements, and provided in the comfort of their own home.

To arrange a free home safety check for yourself or a family member, telephone Elaine Hawkins, home safety coordinator, on (01482) 396355 or email home.safety.service@eastriding.gov.uk.
