A SLEDMERE publican has told this week how he was so Hungary for dental treatment that he went to Budapest for work he couldn't have on the NHS!
Lance Moxon, of the Triton Inn, was so impressed with the treatment he received that he is planning to return to the Hungarian capital to have more work carried out.

He said: "I would recommend it to absolutely anyone."

Mr Moxon first made the round trip of more than 2,500 miles last October after so-called health tourism had been recommended to him by a customer.

He later returned and had three implants and nine crowns fitted, as well as having bone grafts and some extractions carried out.

Mr Moxon told the Driffield Times that he had been suffering from a severe gum disease, which could only be treated on the National Health Service by having six of his teeth taken out and replaced by false ones.

Although the treatment he had in Hungary cost him around £3,500, that was still around £7,000 cheaper than the equivalent private treatment in the UK.

Mr Moxon said the treatment was completely painless and that his own dentist conceded the end result was first-class.

He added that most of the patients being treated in Budapest were from Britain and Ireland.

Mr Moxon added: "I still don't grasp why they can do such a fantastic standard so much cheaper. The standard of care is incredible.

"They even pick you up at the airport. You are never left wondering what is going on, not for a second."

Mr Moxon is planning to return to Hungary in either September or October to undergo more cosmetic work.
