THE new season of musical events staged by the Driffield and Wolds Concert Society has been announced.
A total of five concerts have been planned to take place at Nafferton's All Saints Church over the coming months.

The season is then set to conclude with a Viennese evening at Burton Agnes Hall next April.

The 2008-9 programme opens on Saturday
October 4 at 7.30pm with A Box of Edwardian Delights, which will feature a range of music and prose of the period.

Then award-winning trio Triptych will offer a recital of music for the oboe and bassoon, with piano, on Sunday November 2 from 2.30pm.
Three more shows will be staged in the New Year, with the first on Sunday January 25 featuring the Guildhall Piano Trio.

Audiences will gain further insight into the music of the 19th century at the fourth concert of the season, which features pianist Elizabeth Altman, on Sunday February 22.

And pupils from the prestigious Chethams School of Music in Manchester will have their chance to shine in the final concert on Wednesday March 11.

The season then concludes with a fundraising Viennese evening to be held at Burton Agnes Hall on Saturday April 25.

The evening will feature three solo singers from the Royal Northern College of Music.

Subscriptions are now available for the season by contacting Geoff Hall, tel (01377) 272617.
