SOME of Driffield's most promising young rock talent is to be showcased at a free live musical festival in the town.
The Rock N Roast event will take place at the Rose and Crown pub, on North Street, Driffield between 2pm and 9pm on Sunday July 13.
The event is being promoted by ‘Big John’ Avery, of Keo Vaych Entertainment Services, who is keen to promote the new talent emerging from the town.
Mr Avery said: “We have some excellent emerging talent in Driffield that needs to be seen and heard.
“Here we’re creating a showcase opportunity for them to entertain and deliver what they can do.
“We have five young bands lined up to play and the day is all about them getting a chance to show the town what fantastic home grown talent it has on its own doorstep.”
The acts that will be performing throughout the day include Ncoma, Parkmoor, Topside Beat, TMTFMD, Eclipse, Ruln and karaoke king of Driffield Rob Crawford.
“It’s great to see the lads perform after the hours they put into rehearsals and doing something constructive with their time. Playing an instrument is not easy, so learning to fit into a coherent band situation deserves some respect. I would not be surprised if some of these guys go on to develop music as a career,” Mr Avery added.
The Keo Vaych Duo, featuring the guitars of Big John Avery and vocals of Jenny Townend, will also perform a range of popular songs from the 1960s to current day hits.
A barbecue will also be available and the day will be hosted by Mr Avery.
