ALAN Ayckbourn's final season as artistic director of the Stephen Joseph Theatre will open with a revival of Woman in Mind.
Clergyman's wife, Susan, who is bored, restless and frustrated with life in general and her family in particular, escapes to a happier, more exciting dream world of her own imagining.

But when Susan's two worlds start to overlap and finally collide, danger threatens.

Janie Dee returns to head the cast as Susan in this major revival of Alan Ayckbourn's bittersweet 1985 comedy hit, directed by the author for the first time in more than two decades.

Janie Dee starred in the premiere of Alan Ayckbourn's Comic Potential at the SJT in 1998 and won a best actress award at the Lawrence Olivier, London Evening Standard and Critics' Circle Awards for her performance in the London transfer.

The cast also includes Perdita Avery, John Branwell, Bill Champion, Joanna David, Janie Dee, Dominic Hecht, Paul Kemp and Martin Parr.
Woman in Mind is Alan Ayckbourn's 32nd play and will run from September 4 until October 4.

Tickets cost between £9 and £18.50 and can be booked on (01723) 370541 or by way of the SJT website at www.sjt.uk.com
