HUNDREDS of people gathered in Lissett over the weekend for the annual village fete which has raised around £1,000 to fund various village projects.
Villagers made the most of the sunny bank holiday weather to attend the show which included a whole host of stalls, a dog show and a fancy dress competition.

Lissett Village Association committee member Alice Kirk said: “It went very well and there were just over 300 people there.

“The dog show was a great attraction and we have maybe raised something around the £1,000 mark for the village association.”

According to Mrs Kirk the money raised will go towards funding projects in the village with plans for a new village hall being considered.

Mrs Kirk would like to say a big thank you to all the members of the committee for all their hard work in organising the event and to all those who attended the fete for their support.
