Headteacher to leave after 11 '˜fantastic' years

A Whitby headteacher who has spent 11 and half years at his school says he is sad to be leaving but excited to be taking on a new challenge.

Jim Lidgley has been headteacher at Airy Hill Community Primary School since January 2006, and is now leaving to take over at Northstead Community Primary School in Scarborough.

Reflecting on his time there he told the Gazette: “It has been a fantastic time, I have really enjoyed it most days.

“I have worked with some fantastic people.
